- town hall in the classical style from 1789, expanded in 1851.
A unique repeating clock from half of the 19th century. The clocks strike every quarter of an hour in such a manner that the number of whole quarters and hours is recognisable from the number of strikes and by the chime. On top of that the clocks repeat every full hour the number of full hours in different chime. For example quarter to twelve is struck once on the small bell and 11 times on the middle sized bell; twelve o 'clock is announced by 4 strikes on the small bell, 12 strikes on the middle bell and 12 times on the biggest bell (28 times all together). Therefore each day we can hear 1 020 strikes.
Walking from the square through street Kostelni towards the church of Saint Vavrinec (3 minutes from the square) -magnificent baroque building from 1729-1736. Valuable interior, homogenous in style: Gothic Virgin Mary from the beginning of the 13th century, pewter baptismal font from 1545. Magnificent Calvary, pulpit. Angels Torch-Bearers and a relief depicting the murder of the St. Jan Nepomucky from the second quarter of the 18th century. A monumental organ casing from the end of the 18th century.
In the neighbouring castle park located on the spot of native seigniorial cooperage there is a monument of geologist Frantisek Posepny. The relief is the work of Bohumil Kafka. The castle was set up in the 16th century, later extended and adapted, today Museum of Krkonose Mountains.
Continue along Komenskeho street past empire presbytery and baroque office building from the start of the 18th century towards pseudo-renaissance building of former girls school - the work of noted Czech architect Jan Vejrych, and further to the Zvedava (meaning "Curious") street. This street represents a supreme collection of folk architecture; most of it was built after the great fire in 1788. Each of the houses is situated one window axle forward into the street in such a way that the inhabitants can easily see towards the square - that is where the name Zvedava (curious) comes from. A unique evidence of an old suburban development.
Through the Zvedava street we can continue to the town cemeteries, where a number of prominent personalities were laid to rest: geologist Frantisek Posepny (Catholic cemetery),
skier Bohumil Hanc (Evangelical cemetery), writers Jaroslav Havlicek, Jan Weiss, and the promoter of | Krkonose Jan Buchar (urn grove).
Back to the square (10 min.). Through the Zvedava ulicka street and through the street of Jan Harrach past the bust of academic Jan Hanus, along the former building of high school (today primary school), where among others has studied Jin Slitr. In the Tyrsovo Square we will pass the memorial to the victims of the first world war and of the occupation by Frantiska Podperova-Belska.
